An Example:
XYZ Family Practice Residency
 |
|
You are the director of the XYZ Family Practice
residency. Trying to keep track of your 30 residents is like
trying to herd cats. All your residents already have PDA's
and know how to use them. But how can you harness the power
of the PDA to disseminate up-to-date information to all your
residents? With MeisterMed's assistance,
you'll create a web-based set-up that contains all of the
information of importance to your residents and faculty.
Each resident, when they do a HotSync (Palm OS) or ActiveSync
(PocketPC) of their PDA at home, will get the most recent version
of your web-based information installed to their PDA.

|
|
|
Here's the front page. Whenever you're residents or
faculty open the XYZ Family Practice file they'll see whatever you've put
there for them. Here we see links to Schedules,
the list of current Obstetrics (prenatal) patients, Resident/Faculty
contact information, and some current reminders. |

|
|
If we scroll down the page a little, we see more of what's
available including Consultant Contact Information, Community Resources,
Hospital Formulary, Prior Authorization Criteria, and Cartoon of the
Month. |

|
|
We've clicked on schedules. There are all sorts of
schedules to check out - clinic schedules, rotation schedules for the
year, call schedules, and conference schedules.
We'll click on the August call schedule. |

|
|
Here's the August call schedule.
OK. We're done with that so we'll
go back to the title page or front page by clicking the little Home icon
at the bottom of the screen. |

|
|
Now we want to check out the details about prior
authorization for a patient for whom we'd like to prescribe Vioxx.
In the Prior Authorization section, we only have three drugs listed but we
could have a hundred if we wanted. |
 |
|
An elderly patient in clinic isn't doing so well.
Maybe they'd benefit from Meals on Wheels. To get the most
up-to-date referral information, go to the Community Resources page and
click Meals on Wheels. |

|
|
Here's the information we were looking for. |

|
|
Now all of this information is available right?
You have a book listing all the Community Resources floating around the
clinic somewhere. You have memos detailing the prior authorization
requirements for Vioxx stapled up on a bulletin board somewhere. And
you must have three or four copies of the call schedule up on the wall
although making sure we're looking at the most current one can be a
challenge. The information is all there. If you're
particularly organized, maybe you even have it all available on your
computers. But the challenge is having all the most up-to-date
information available to you and everyone else all the time whereever you
are.

info. You'll need iSilo to view it.
The possibilities are endless. You can customize
this information to include whatever is most important for your
organization. It is within your reach to keep everyone in your
organization up-to-date and on the same page. Let MeisterMed show
you how.
